My Raptor can be remapped without using the PCIII but it still needs to be dyno'd to get it properly done.
I'm happy with my PCIII because if you want to do it properly, you'll have to remap every time you change something enginewise like cans, manifold, air filter etc.
Unless you plan to do everything at one go.
