for a newbie to cars maybe he would pay that much for a turbo kit. but if you know what your doing then it can be peiced together for $1-2k. And if your running a turbo usually you just run either and open downpipe or some cheap small baffled exhaust. Definetly not going to run you over $300. Tuning depends on who and where and if they know what the hell they are doing. And just to make 500whp on a stock mustang you really dont need to even touch the internals or drivetrain.

ask me how i know all this. we can do this all day.
I know you can piece a turbo kit together from used parts but were talking new. A good brand new turbo kit will run you anywhere from 4-5k. As for the internals, they can be stock and you can make that power but then you run into reliability issues and mechanical problems in the future. The GT500's motor is built to match the 500+ hp ford claims it makes. Let's not forget to mention that if something were to happen to the GT then he'de be once more SOL. I'm getting all this info from ford.com

okay so your talking a new mustang. noone said the parts had to be brand spanking new?? and also parting together a kit doesnt mean they are used parts. i can part together a kit with brand new parts for way less than a "kit" from some over priced perfomance store is going to sell me. those kits are for the fools who dont know the first thing about boosting a car. tell me im wrong. and why do you keep bringing up warranty? even if you bring the gt500 to the track and break it theyll void the warrenty on that too!!

no shit. thats why im trying to sell it and noone will buy it. fords suck. i bout that car to put in the 383 stroker(548whp on motor/678 on spray) i had built, with the turbo350trans w/shift kit, and the solid 9inch rear from my van. no point in putting a ford motor in it. i would if i wanted to run 12's and 13's all day.
