Bad idea...

1) Actually pushes dirt further into the o-rings pocket's
2) Bare metal and water don't mix.

well I meant like spray some degreaser or some kerosene and let it sit for a small amount of time then spray it off.

easiest thing is to use some sort of brush to really get the grime and grit off. i wouldnt suggest water on your chain.

tea I use a tooth brush and some WD-40 and go to town on the chain then I just water it down to get the excess dirt off and dry it.

But the water is only there till you get the dirt and grime off. Of course after that id lube up the chain again. Besides the chain gets water every time you ride it in the rain or go through puddles and stuff like that. Or even parked outside and it rains. I figured the power of the pressure washer would make the grime come out easily but i have never done that before.

I clean my chain approx every 500 - 600 miles, but lube it after each ride.. I use kerosene and a tooth brush to clean it (I'm just anal like that, lol), and use Maxim chain wax.. just a note, don't hold a rag on the chain with the motor running and the tire spinning.. not a good Idea.. I know it sounds stupid and like nobody could EVER be that crazy.. but YEP, it happens.. not to me, mind you, but yep, it has happened.. just ask 4 finger Fred!!
