open the bleed valve which is at the caliper. Helps to have someone with u who can fill the master cylinder as you drain the fluid out of the valve. Make sure not to put have any bubbles go in when filling at the master cylinder. As far as the radiator on the R1 Try checking the R1 forum

Every 5000 miles on the dot for me.... Mobil 1 10w-40 full syn has always served me well. Reminds me I need to change it this week (I just changed it a month ago...eek!)

i think when my next oil change is done im switching to one of the scotts stainless steel filters. expensive but itll be worth it in the long run of things.
