Because I have 2 truckloads of clothes and toys I need to offload too. Often times, when we donate to the Salvation Army or to Goodwill, they sell it in their stores versus giving it to people. I have a hard time "donating" large things when there are people who could actually use a TV...Hell, even clothes....But I still donate the clothes since the kids outgrow them in a month and someone could use them for cheap.
While a TV isn't nearly a car, I did tax service while in the Navy as a part time volunteer thing. People are unaware that you don't get a tax right off on a car unless the Salvation Army or other organization deems it worth a certain amount. It's sad because some people wanted to donate the car AND get a tax break, but the car goes to auction and the person who donated the car gets squat.
I will take it somewhere...I just wanted to see if anyone had a kid that wanted a big (for a kid) TV in their room.
