Shark S650 lid problem...
Hey all...Just A. seeing if anyone else has had this problem and B. to inform folks of this issue....
As many know, I picked up my new sportbike and had to get new gear because I would look goofy wearing a Harley helmet on a sportbike. So I went to Cycle Gear and picked up a nice looking Shark S650 lid. I used to wear a Shoei RF-1000 which was SUPER but the Shark, I have read decent reviews and the price was right. Also, if you ever look at a Shark lid, the chin area comes down more...There seems to be some protection there which is good.
Overall, the helmet is nice. The graphics are cool if you're into graphics and the lining is about as comfortable as anything. I need to break it in a little bit more because of the top of my ears but other than that, fit and finish are great.
The ISSUE is, I was cruising the other day over 80mph and glanced over my shoulder to change lanes. Just tilting my head a little bit and the shield flipped up. I was a little shocked because I felt it was a pretty dangerous design flaw. I tried it again, just tilting my head, just to see if it happened again and it did.
I read the stuff that came with the helmet and I can't seem to find anywhere that keeps the shield locked down. So, if anyone has an S650, let me know if I am missing something. If anyone has an S650, let me know if you have experienced this. I think it might be a little bit dangerous.
