Unhappy Motorcycle discrimination in Condo HOA

I usually take my car whenever i stay over at my girlfriend's condo. The last few times i had taken the bike. There are guest parking spots all over the place. I always park in the exact same spot whether its the car or bike.

Today she had a 75 dollar citation sitting on her front door (not from the margate police but her condo association) because it said the guest had parked the motorcycle facing backwards (i always do this in parking spots because it makes it more visible so people dont knock it over and easier to take it back out again) and also that the parking spot was "too far" from her condo BS.

She asked her next door neighbor and he said the only reason they are doing it is to harass her and generally they do everything they can to keep bikes from coming in the condo complex. She looked into her agreement and no where does it state that bikes are not allowed in the complex. My question is that is this legal? To simply harass a person for having a certain kind of a legal motor vehicle that has as much of a right to be on the street as anything else ?

my hoa towed my wife's car from our own marked/designated parking spot because she backed into the spot so we could unload shit since we were just moving in. i called the hoa office fuming and they said it is so that they can read license plates and tow unauthorized vehicles from home owner spots. i'm convinced it is just some bullshit scam where a hoa board member has a relative who owns a towing company... either that or they get kickbacks from the towing company.

cost me $150 to get her car back from the shithole towing company located on MLK blvd (why is MLK blvd always in shit neighborhoods?) after midnight on a work night. it's cool though, i'm sure it cost them more than $150 to fix the front gate after i rammed it with my beater the following week.

great, now i'm in a bad mood from telling you about this...

Yeah, they can get you for parking backwards, but you can go before the board and get your fine waived if you provide proof that there are other vehicles doing the same thing and not getting ticketed.

Associations have the backwards parking rule for good reason, people treat condo common areas like their own dumping ground. I wish my association was more dilligent about enforcing that rule. We have people that park all manner of vehicles all over the place, blocking sidewalks, ramp access and leaving leaky non-running cars around for months at a time. They complain like crazy as soon as their beater gets towed, though.

As far as motorcycles go, they generally have to follow the same rules, even though it may seem kinda stupid. Except for being able to park more than one per spot, that's one advantage of riding. I have 4 in my parking spot right now, if anyone complained about it, I'd have to take up a lot of room for nothing.

Gotta love those power control members of the HOA. They could have simply left you one of those orange annoying stickers but instead they write a ticket. What A$$'s!!!
