Default FYI: No more B.S. tag law...

Yeap, that's right. I just found out. Effective June 16th 2009, there is no more of that bullshit $1,000 tag law. The tag just has to be visible, not hidden or obsured from view. My vertical tag is going RIGHT back on, baby!!
So if a cop tries to write you a ticket for your tag, you can tell him "I don't think so, pal" Everyone should copy and print this out and place inside their wallet or bike cuz it will come in handy until the LEO's get up to snuff with the new revision, hahahaaa, suckers!

Here is the official statute:

Following is a summary of the amendments and additions to the traffic statutes resulting from the 2009 legislative session.

Ch. Law 2009-183 SB 1100 DHSMV Effective 06/16/09
20.24 The Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles is re-enacted and the obsolete Bureau of MV Inspections is deleted from statute.
316.126(1) (b) 1. On a multi-lane road, the driver of a vehicle passing an emergency vehicle shall reduce their speed to 20 mph less than the posted limit, if they are unable to move over.
316.2085(3) A motorcyclist may not conceal or obscure their license plate. The requirement that a motorcycle license plate be affixed horizontally is DELETED. 2
320.01(27) The definition of a motorcycle in Florida law will coincide with that of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration when applicable.

After all the bullshit w/mounting my tag to be "legal", I'm happy with the way it is. Glad to see they deleted that. Just wondering how long it will last.

It's funny cuz I never changed the way I had it mounted on the end of the swingarm w/ the vertical mount, even after the Oct 1st laws. Screw them!

you still need the light. as long as you can see the plate and read it without obstructions, you should be ok. however, the fender eliminator might be considered a flippable tag, which is still illegal. i doubt most cops would give you a hard time about it unless you act like a dick.
