I love politics, but more often than not the debates end up going to name-calling and yelling.
As for obama, i did vote for him. lesser of 2 evils i guess... i just didnt like mccain. i supported mccain in his last ('04) campaign, but the more i found out about him, the less i trusted him (keating 5 anyone?). I should point out I am registered republican, fiscally conservative, but socially liberal and very anti war. weird combo, i know. I think obama has done a great job in foreign relations. I favor free and open trade with all countries and no alliances. Domestically however, I think he is really dropping the ball. We have way too many problems here at home that need to be addressed. We are borrowing billions of dollars from china to give to allied countries as aid (I’m looking at Israel). Wtf? The gop is screaming and yelling about spending money to fix our broken healthcare system, yet they are ok with blowing almost $2 billion a week in Iraq. All they do is yell and grandstand on the floor. They offer no alternatives or ideas on how to fix our system. Their polarization of the party hasn’t helped either. The ones getting media attention are the limbaughs, hannitys and glen becks. What happened to the moderate conservatives? Why are the ones making the most sense laughed at? This is getting long winded, so I will wrap it up. All in all, I am not happy with the way obama has performed. It seems like the same people are pushing the buttons that were there for the past 8 years. Nothing has really changed since he became president, but I will support him because I am an American. Things are… how do they put it on the news? “Not as bad as they could be.”™
