Please share any memories with Lino that you'd like, here's my very first memory of him...........
The very first conversation I ever had with Lino was online and he posted about his bird that he loved so much. He was saying how he needed to take it to get it's wings clipped and I suggested going to The Aviary in Cutler Ridge. He said it was too far from him and never got it done. Not long after, he posted that his beloved bird flew away.
A couple of weeks later, I met him in person at Sportsgrill and we talked about the bird and it became a joke between us.
Now, 2 years later we say goodbye to our dear friend and at his funeral today, his card reads:
If I should ever leave you, whom I love,
To go along the Silent Way, grieve not,
Nor speak of me with tears, but laugh
and talk
Of me as if I were beside you there.
And when you hear a song or see a bird
I loved, please do not let the thought of
me
Be sad... for I am loving you just as
I always have...
There are so many things I wanted still
To do -- so many things to say to you...
Remember that I did not fear...
So when you look ahead to the future
or look back
At how things used to be,
Don't forget to look beside you,
Because that's where you'll find me,
But this I know:
I loved you so -- 'twas heaven here with you!
A few months ago, a friend of mine posted on her Facebook a picture of her at a park in Miami during her yoga class where a little Indian Ringneck flew down into the class and was friendly with everyone. I copied the picture and sent him a PM asking if it could have possibly been his long lost buddy. It wasn't
I can't tell you how I lost it reading the part about the bird and how I could hear his voice saying it to me and feel his hand on my shoulder reading the rest of it to me. He's still with us all, in every way that he can be.
We love you Lino. Hope you're flying high with all the little Indian Ringnecks you can find.
