Going back to Miami

Hey all! I am MOVING BACK TO MIAMI! No more working in Cocoa well....Because I lost my job! SWEET! First time I have ever been laid off. It's a little surreal. I can be Jessi's assistant now!

Anyway, some options are open. Actually, all of my options are open. I have thought about a career change: maybe opening up a shop, maybe just doing freelance IT work, I thought about staying in the government contracting arena and head over to Afghanistan (TONS OF MONEY!). I have even thought about teaching. So, I will be more active once I move the bikes and my crap back to my house in Miami. My old man has a decent trailer I have to put some eye mounts on to put the tie down straps on.

Toss me some ideas of what I should do! Oh, and I can't work at BK....I was making pretty good scratch before.

Sorry to hear about your job loss, that always sucks. I am a Mary Kay consultant and I would be happy to train you to do the same. It is a great job, you can make lots of money, and we have a lot of fun. Hey, you said anything. Let me know if you are interested. If not, maybe your wife may be interested. She could do so well, that you won't even have to work. We have several women whose husbands/boyfriends no longer work because the wife/girlfriend does Mary Kay. It is more beneficial for them to stay home with the children a few nights while she works 10-20 hours a week making more than the two of them together have been making, and then they have much more family time together. Our motto is GOD FIRST, FAMILY SECOND, AND CAREER THIRD. It has worked for Mary Kay, and many of us too. Let me know, it is a great opportunity and very easy.

sorry about the layoff. i was in the same boat last september. let me give you a piece of advice... the first few weeks, make them yours. take a vacation, spend time with the family, pick up a new hobby, whatever. dont jump right into the job search. being laid off is stressful and you need some time to gather your thoughts and figure out the best route. so, take it easy and good luck to you man. things have a way of working out.

And Brat....in all seriousness, I have TOTALLY though about doing that. YES I AM HETERO...But my thinking is....If a woman tells another woman "Sure that makeup looks good on you" the woman has mixed emotions. Now if a MAN, who dresses nice, is semi-good looking and says "Wow! That makes you look AMAZING!", then the woman would be more apt to purchase a product because the bias factor is not there where a woman thinks she may or may not look better with the product. I have TOTALLY been thinking about it.

Anywho....Life's good...I'm just doing some logisitics work right now to get all packed up, bikes freshened up, car freshened up. And then I am heading to Miami tomorrow I believe. So....Thanks for the advice all...And yes Jay....I am taking it easy right now!

Kris: We have a guy in my group that is doing wonderful in this business. He drives a car for FREE, and it is not a pink car either, he quit his other job, and is making double what he made before. So yes, guys can do it too. Only $100.00 start up fee to start your own business. Where else can you do that? NO WHERE. Let me know if interested, I will hook you up.

No, Moni, I actually forgot about Robert, but that is true, Robert is in our Miami group who also drives a car for FREE and is on target for his second car. This other guy I am talking about is in the WPB group.

what kind of IT work were you doing? or you specialized in a specific area or were you just an all around type of worker?

why dont you try looking for work agencies that deal only with IT workers. Agencies usually pay low at first, but it could be the start of something good, after you pass your 3 month mark, the company can hire you as a permanent.

Ive always found work through agencies... it pays the bills while I get my education. good luck!
